Grub2 can be installed on any drive: grub-install /dev/sdx , where x=a,b,c or whatever disks you have and choose.

#Installeren Grub2:
#in my case root filesysteem is Mint_13 with Grub2 installed, on sdb6
sudo mount /dev/sdb6 /mnt
#mount boot-partition:
sudo mount /dev/sdb15 /mnt/boot
#mount devices:
sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
sudo chroot /mnt
grub-install /dev/sda
#(or /dev/sdb or .....)

If necessary:
sudo update-grub
install-grub /dev/sda
# (or /dev/sdb or ....)
#to find other installed systems

I think, when Grub2 is installed on your LFS-partition, the same commands will work.
