Not having a root password is a problem! Remember that when you enter
the chroot, you're root - so get out of the chroot, then back in, and
you can do what you want. Then you can make a root password by issuing
the command 'passwd'. Then it's probably a good idea to change the
owner of your sources directory to lfs, so you can unpack etc. stuff
there.
