Dan,

This is what I get from the above echo command:

#include "..." search starts here:
#include <...> search starts here:
 /mnt/lfs/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.2/include
 /tools/include
/usr/include
End of search list.


hmmm.... maybe what's tossing this is the /usr/include ?  I wonder where it might be coming from...
