Building 6.0 with a 2.4 host

Hi everyone,

  Wouldn't it be possible to build LFS 6.0 from a host running a 2.4
series kernel by compiling all packages using a proper gcc (and
including the udev package); using standard MAKEDEV in Ch06 to go on;
then configuring udev for the reboot ? ( I skipped a few steps there, I
hope you nevertheless got the picture ;-)

  In other words, are there any embedded dependencies on the devices
system that gets into them when building them ? If you build the
packages using standard 2.4 devices but substitute the whole device
system by udev upon reboot, would you run in any major problems
(assuming the 2.6 kernel was properly configured for udev support) ?

  Thanks for any feedback.
