Hi guys,

I'm reading LFS-7.7-rc1 book and in the chapter 6.67.2. Configuring
Eudev it is stated:
"Information about hardware devices is maintained in the
/etc/udev/hwdb.d and /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d directories."
Text refers to "directories", but later on it looks like
/etc/udev/hwdb.d is a file.
Would it be more clear to have:
" ... in the /etc/udev/hwdb.d database file and /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d directory."

On a running LFS-7.7-rc1 system before initial db is created:
# ls -l /etc/udev/hwdb.bin
ls: cannot access /etc/udev/hwdb.bin: No such file or directory
# udevadm hwdb --update
# file /etc/udev/hwdb.bin
/etc/udev/hwdb.bin: data
# ls -l /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d: No such file or directory

Since /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d directory is not created by udevadm, could
someone clarify:
- should /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d be created during LFS build?
- who & how is using it?

Regards,
Alexey
