Just an example:

You get the hash that was and then the hash that is now.
You get the log entry
You get a basic diff of the change and it states which file


It was a bit strange when I first looked at it when I started long  
ago, but it's rather excellent.

When a commit is pushed, there should be a hook to send to the  
required mailing list, which i would suspect that it'd be lfs-dev or  
lfs-commits if that is created.

I don't know what to say about Subversion, I haven't used it much as  
more as I have git.  But this thread is about a proposal.
