I am all for this in all cases where LFS has/is going to/thinking about
deviating from upstream. Everyone has to read the relevant thread on
LFS-Trac to have an idea what is being discussed, you can find it here:


And after reading it, hopefully everyone will:

1. agree with it or
2. provide a better solution

Not trying to make this difficult, but instead, trying to get the
community to decide on something. It appears to me that Bryan is
trying hard to satisfy both of the listed items.
