Actually, the ideal way of finding out GRUB's terminology is to use the 
grub command shell's find command...i.e.

find /boot/kernel-

It will respond with the proper terminology for that particular 
partition - of course, if you use a separate boot partition, you would 
need to do:

find /kernel-
