[PATCH] Yet another CRITICAL alpha fix

When compiled with gcc >=3.1 on Alpha, glibc-2.2.5 linuxthreads 
will cause segfaults in any process that calls the 
pthread_setspecific() function.  Details on the issue can be

I've attached the relevant patch to fix the issue.
