Ok.

Create $LFS/test.c file containing
// begin test.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main() {
printf("hi\n");
return 0 }
// end test.c

enter chroot, compile and execute with:
chroot $LFS bash --login
gcc -o /test /test.c
/test

Does it print 'hi' or complains about no such file or directory?
