Password file problem

In Book Version 2.3.6 in the paragraph titled
      Creating passwd and group files

shouldn't:
root:~# echo "root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash" > $LFS/etc/passwd
really be:
root:~# echo "root::0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash" > $LFS/etc/passwd

That extra 'x' creates a password that is darned hard to break...
