I got that on my PC when I tried a little experiment. My BIOS has a setting
'large disk access mode' - large disk being silly like above 1GB, I believe.
It has setting 'Windows' which is says is for Windows, and 'Other' which it
states is for "Unix, Novell NetWare, and others". I had it on Windows as I
run windows, and then thought, what'll happen if I try 'Other' and run
Linux. Well, that was what happened when Lilo came up.

Maybe not the same cause, but interesting...
