Um you got a hdd bigger then 6 gig ? (the reason i say 6 gig as i have a 6
that i did at one stage  have linux on and it didnt have a problem , but my
10 did so im not sure if it has hassle with say a 8 or not as i havent been
put in that situation) if so thats why as it happened to me with my 10
gigger so i had to make a /boot parttion to over come the 1024 limit thingy
but if you have the latest lilo i hear it doesnt have that problem
