Just for information:

GNU tar had bzip2 support via "-y" aka "--bzip2" and " --unbzip2" in for
a few months last year (dunno which version(s)). Has been removed,

The "-I" option came from an unofficial patch to GNU tar, which was
available on the bzip2 homepage a long time ago.
