 Not needed.

 The books use cat to edit the groups and shadow entries.

 The configure option isn't needed. The only time it is an issue is when
 using any of the shadow utils which use the max length option.

 The longest is systemd-bus-proxy which is 18 chars long. Not quite 32.

 "is_valid_{user,group}_name" functions are called by groupad, groupmod,
 grpck, newusers, pwck, useradd, and usermod"

 Chris and I were researching this and if ya going to use any of those
 above in BLFS to create users or groups then it'd be a problem.

 Since the base book should create those users that is not a problem.
