It's not necessary that I know of -- I don't believe anything keys off the
value of the date entity.  We just show it in the book in several places,
so it looks like you're still reading an older book when you see it online.
You are actually getting the current one, though.

Now, that being said, convention is to update it; I forgot.  Fixed in r8945.
