 For anything dm-based (LVM, LUKS, ...): barriers are not supported. For
 SATA (i.e., /dev/sda2): if "hdparm -I /dev/sda | grep NCQ" returns non-
 empty output, then the hardware supports barriers. For other hardware
 types, I don't know.
