For USB Mice, you'll need to ensure that USB HID support is either
compiled in the kernel or as a module.  You'll also have to create the usb
device node:

mkdir /dev/input &&
mknod /dev/input/mice c 13 63

USB mice use the imps2 protocol, and use the device node /dev/input/mice.
