I don't like to contradict, but something seems to be missed in the book. Of 
course, the "ln" command works from anywhere, provided the full path is 
given. But the example after the command asumes that  _you_are already in 
/usr/share/kbd/keymaps, in other words, that you applied the cd command,  
otherwise the example will give a link to nirvana. Please check.
