gnucash 1.6.8 configure failing

I am working through the BLFS-BOOK March 17th version to compile gnucash 
1.6.8.  I have compiled all the prerequisites.  I have gtkhtml installed as 
per the book.  I have ammended the gnucash configure as per the sed command 
in the book but the configure is failing with the following message:
