I was pointed to this list by another individual so if I'm in the
wrong place please excuse the intrusion and hopefully point me the
right way.

I'm running LInux 2.4.13 here using gcc 2.95.3 and am TRYING TO get
3.0.2 running along with glibc 2.2.4 (yes, I know its bleeding edge
but I need it for a developer to work on...)

Here's the problem (first one anyway) I can't get glibc to compile,
I've got the recommended addons and below is what I end up with at the
make point...any assistance GREATLY appreciated.

  166 cd glibc-2.2.4/
  167 mkdir glibc-build
  168 cp malloc/Makefile malloc/Makefile.backup
  169 sed 's%\$(PERL)%/usr/bin/perl%' malloc/Makefile > tmp~
  170 mv tmp~ malloc/Makefile
  171 cp login/Makefile login/Makefile.backup
  172 sed 's/root/0/' login/Makefile > tmp~
  173 mv tmp~ login/Makefile
  174 cd glibc-build/
  180 cp config.make config.make.backup
  182 unset CFLAGS CXXFLAGS
  195 cd /Linux/glibc-2.2.4/glibc-build/
  196 ../configure --prefix=/usr \
  197 --enable-add-ons --libexecdir=/usr/bin
  198 cp config.make config.make.backup
  199 sed 's/cross-compiling = yes/cross-compiling = no/
  200 ' config.make > tmp~
  201 mv tmp~ config.make
  202 make

this runs for a while and ends with:

make[2]: Leaving directory
make -C nss_db-2.2 subdir_lib
make[2]: Entering directory `/mnt/scsi-1/Linux/glibc-2.2.4/nss_db-2.2'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `subdir_lib'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt/scsi-1/Linux/glibc-2.2.4/nss_db-2.2'
make[1]: *** [nss_db-2.2/subdir_lib] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/scsi-1/Linux/glibc-2.2.4'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Which stops the make at that point....any help in getting glibc
compiled would be appreciated as then I can move on to getting gcc
